Unleash the Gifted Youngsters
The X-Men have always worked best when they’re forced into rough situations, but how many dark corridors have they truly braved? Would they fare with scarce resources and constant pressure? We think so! In fact, we think that if you dropped these mutants into an everyday horror setting, they’d give you an unbeatable roster—and we’re here to break down exactly which ones would make it out alive.
1. Wolverine
Let’s be honest, Wolverine is the most obvious pick. He can heal from injuries, he’s seen countless wars, and he knows how to hold his own in a fight. He wouldn’t just survive the nightmare, he’d keep moving through with sarcastic comments and sheer strength that any zombie wouldn’t see coming.
2. Jean Grey
Jean Grey would be excellent because she’d turn ordinary environments into defensive tools. The power of telekenesis, are we right? She could move furniture, block entrances, and grab useful items without exposing herself. Her telepathy would only make her more valuable since scouting out hidden dangers changes everything.

3. Cyclops
It’s hard to be afraid when you have literal laser beams that blast away enemies. Not only that, but Cyclops is disciplined enough to stay focused should panic spread through a group. He’s also the kind of guy who’d ration ammo, check maps, and make sure nobody opens the wrong door twice.

4. Leech
It might sound crazy, but in an environment where strange creatures make every encounter worse, Leech’s ability to suppress them turns impossible situations back into manageable ones. Alright, it’s true, he wouldn’t dominate the battlefield, but he could easily become the reason you make it out at all.
5. Nightcrawler
Teleportation is almost unfair in a genre built around getting trapped—but Nightcrawler doesn’t care. When a monster blocks the only exit or creeps down the stairs, he can blink right past it. His agility and cautious personality would also make him the kind of survivor who actually checks corners before walking into disaster.
6. Storm
Oh, what’s that? Some creepy nurse is on the way? Good luck moving through literal tornadoes. If the game throws Storm into ruined atmospheres, she’d just create fog for cover, call lightning for a fight, or change conditions to buy precious time. In truth, she’d make the ordinary world feel a little less helpless.
7. Beast
Beast brings something really valuable to the table: brains. Don’t get it twisted, intelligence matters just as much as bravery (which he also possesses). If you need someone to identify contaminated water, fix a generator, sift through medical notes, or figure out why a town has collapsed, he’s your guy.
8. Rogue
Rogue might not cross everyone’s mind, but to us, she’s an interesting choice. In a survival horror scenario, her strength and durability would help a lot more than people think. Okay, yes, her inability to safely touch people could make rescue situations more stressful, but what’s survival horror without charged emotions?
9. X-23
X-23 would thrive for a lot of the same reasons Wolverine would—only she brings a more tactical edge. Her healing factor, heightened senses, and lethal precision make her ideal for picking through dangerous spaces. Not only that, but she also fits the mood perfectly; she carries the exact kind of emotional weight survival games need to feel personal.
10. Colossus
How do monsters plan on stopping Colossus? He’s the dependable tank every group wishes it had. What makes him fit especially well is that he’d use his strength sparingly instead of just letting it loose in every encounter. Not to mention, his kind-hearted personality would keep stories coming at the campfire.
11. Jubilee
Jubilee is another one of those misunderstood names people dismiss. But she’d actually work really well in a horror setting. Think about it: her powers could distract enemies, light dark spaces, and create sudden openings when the group is outnumbered. We could also use someone with a little spunk.

12. Forge
Survival horror games are full of broken systems that need clever solutions, and Forge is the man to navigate all that. Give him a damaged radio, a dead security panel, or scattered junk, and he’ll probably turn it into something helpful. He’s the guy who’d help you survive through ingenuity instead of luck.
13. Magik
Magik already feels like she walked in from a survival horror game, so she’d obviously thrive in one. The real appeal is that she has the nerve to handle disturbing situations without falling apart the second something creepy appears. Go ahead, bring on the macabre—she’d probably be well-suited to it.
14. Dani Moonstar
Dani Moonstar has something for you, monster: the power to make you see what terrifies you most. That little trick works as offense, a distraction, or basic psychological control. It’ll be pretty hard for the average bad guy to chase you when they’re running from their own demons.
15. Multiple Man
Okay, let’s be real: having extra hands changes everything in a crisis. Multiple Man could scout different rooms, carry supplies, and keep watch while others rest, which is all pretty useful when one mistake can wipe out the whole team. There’s also something very fitting about a guy who can spread himself thin in a genre built around stress and bad choices.

16. Armor
In a survival horror, defense is sometimes more important than offense, and Armor knows that better than anyone. Her psionic armor would let her protect herself and others in close quarters, especially in ordinary places where escape isn’t easy. Say what you want about her, but she’d help the group last longer simply by making them harder to get.
17. Iceman
Iceman freezes doors shut. He creates barriers and slows down pursuers. Best of all, he gives a group a chance to breathe—and those are exactly the kinds of advantages that matter when you’re trying to survive the night. He’s also adaptable enough that even a grocery store could become useful terrain in his hands.
18. Marrow
Marrow is exactly the sort of obscure choice that would make a roster more interesting. She also has the grit to endure ugly conditions, but her ability to grow and use her own bones as weapons means she’d always have something at the ready. In a world where resources are scarce, it never hurts to have someone like that on your side.
19. Cecilia Reyes
We know it sounds a little weird, but Cecilia Reyes is actually one of the smartest picks. Survival horror always needs somebody who can keep people alive when muck hits the fan, and her medical training alone makes her essential. She’s not usually the first X-Man fans mention, but in a real crisis, you’d want her nearby.
20. Kitty Pryde
Kitty Pryde never got enough attention, but she’d be perfect in a survival horror game. Locked doors, jammed shutters, collapsing floors, and hordes of enemies all become a lot less scary if you can move through literal walls.
