Pokémon Superpowers
Anyone who's played Pokémon would know that the monster world has some pretty nifty abilities that would make great superpowers if only they existed in real life. Pikachu's Thunderbolt aside (that one you might skip), you can probably imagine how much easier your days would be if you had super strength, healing effects, or were able to sleep through your responsibilities while still getting them done. With that said, here are 20 Pokémon abilities we definitely wouldn't turn down.
1. Huge Power
True to the name, Huge Power would make almost any physical task much easier. Whether you're hefting heavy furniture or hauling groceries, none of these strenuous chores would require nearly as much effort. You'd just have to be careful about how much force you used.
2. Compound Eyes
Compound Eyes increases a Pokémon's accuracy, which means it'll give you exceptionally precise vision and coordination in the real world. You'd probably get way better at sports and driving overnight! Plus, anyone who regularly struggles to thread a needle would probably appreciate having this ability.
3. Super Luck
Down on your luck? Well, with Super Luck, you'd have a much better shot in situations where chance plays a role. Finding a great parking space, choosing the shortest checkout line, or making a fortunate decision at exactly the right moment are just some examples.
4. Sturdy
Sturdy prevents a Pokémon from being knocked out by a single attack, so you can imagine how helpful that ability would be in real life. No more scrapes and bruises from falls and other unexpected mishaps! Of course, you still wouldn't want to test the limits of the ability on purpose, but knowing you had some extra buffer would be useful.
5. Wonder Guard
If you had the Wonder Guard ability, you would have protection against a remarkable range of physical dangers. But just like Sturdy, it wouldn't make you completely invincible, though the list of things capable of hurting you would become considerably shorter.
6. Overcoat
Have a dust or pollen allergy? Well, with the Overcoat ability, say goodbye to those pesky airborne irritants. Rain and harsh weather would also affect you less. It's almost like having a giant coat shielding you from the bad stuff.
7. Cloud Nine
Similar to Overcoat, Cloud Nine can suppress the effects of weather, meaning extreme heat or bitter cold would have far less impact on you. Outdoor jobs and long days spent traveling would suddenly become far easier to handle.
8. Harvest
Imagine eating an apple or a strawberry, and having another one pop back up later—that's essentially what the Harvest ability does, giving you a potentially endless supply of food. In this era of inflation, your grocery bills would be way cheaper.
9. Healer
Healer is pretty self-explanatory: it gives you the ability to ease certain illnesses or physical problems affecting others nearby. Even if the effect weren't guaranteed every time, having a chance to help someone recover simply by being around them would be extraordinary.

10. Anticipation
If you were equipped with the Anticipation ability, you'd be able to sense when an opponent has a particularly dangerous move. In other words, you would have a reliable warning system to alert you when something nearby posed a serious threat.
11. Trace
Trace allows you to copy others, opening up an enormous number of possibilities in real life. Just imagine: being around someone with an exceptional talent could temporarily give you access to the same useful trait. There are limits, of course, but few abilities could offer as much versatility.
12. Adaptability
Unlike Trace, which allows you to essentially mimic others' abilities, Adaptability makes you even better at what you're naturally good at. No matter if you're a musician or athlete, this strength would help you perform at an even higher level.
13. Early Bird
Early Bird allows you to wake up sooner than you normally would. It might sound mundane, but anyone who needs multiple alarms and several cups of coffee before feeling functional may find this ability extremely useful. You'd still get to sleep, but you'd be able to wake up promptly and actually feel ready to go in the morning.
14. Comatose
Ever wondered what it'd be like if you could stay asleep but still do all the things you needed to do? The Comatose ability is what you want. From long flights to tedious work, exhausting schedules could instantly become easier to manage.
15. Unburden
Unburden sharply increases your speed after you use or drop whatever you're currently carrying. Imagine running errands: dropping off a package or finishing your groceries might suddenly leave you able to move much faster! You'd probably start wanting to travel light more.
16. Chlorophyll
Similar to Unburden, Chlorophyll doubles your speed—but in harsh sunlight. That would mean stepping outside on a bright, sunny day could give you a substantial physical boost. People living in consistently warm climates would be especially spoiled.
17. Soundproof
There are probably some things you'd rather not hear, and Soundproof gives you exactly that ability by allowing you to control unwanted noise. Construction outside your window, a neighbor's late-night music, or the roar of an airplane cabin might no longer bother you. You could still enjoy sounds when you wanted them, of course, but you'd be able to avoid the ones you'd rather tune out.
18. Multiscale
Multiscale reduces the damage you take. In ordinary life, that could give you valuable protection from the first impact in an accident or other dangerous situation. This ability would be especially useful for cyclists, hikers, athletes, and anyone working in physically demanding environments.
19. Rock Head
Rock Head prevents recoil damage, meaning a real-life version could make many physical activities safer by reducing the consequences of the force you generate yourself. Anything from running to high-impact sports could potentially become less punishing on your body.
20. Friend Guard
Just like Healer, the Friend Guard ability directly benefits the people around you. Anyone standing nearby could receive extra protection just by standing near you. Of all the abilities you could bring into the real world, one that helps keep both you and the people you care about safer would be especially hard to turn down.
