10 Superhero Headquarters We’d Love to Tour & 10 That Would Be Workplace Nightmares
A Crack In The Space-Time Continuum? Just Another Tuesday.
Forget the cubicle. Forget the fluorescent lights and the office chair that squeaks every time you shift your weight. You’ll find none of that in these spaces. Superhero headquarters are stuffed with jaw-dropping tech: hidden caverns beneath sprawling mansions, secret labs tucked inside skyscrapers, stations orbiting the planet, and places that ignore the laws of physics entirely. If you're the type who gets excited over alien hardware, next-level training simulators, and a couple of super cool cars, a tour through one of these headquarters would feel like Christmas. But here's the catch: actually working at one of these places is a totally different experience. Sabotage, cosmic invasions, magical meltdowns, and buildings that occasionally try to kill their own occupants tend to complicate the whole nine-to-five thing. Here are ten headquarters worth begging for a tour, followed by ten you'd want absolutely nothing to do with as an employee.
1. The Batcave
Tucked beneath Wayne Manor, the Batcave doubles as Batman's command center, garage, weapons vault, and personal computer lab. Here, you can find Bruce’s cars, planes, suits, and even trophies, all while the Batcomputer hums away, crunching data. You could wander in there for hours and walk out completely satisfied.
2. The Fortress of Solitude
Superman's icy hideaway is a marvel of science and architecture. It’s chock-full of Kryptonian science, ancient archives, alien artifacts, and robotic helpers going about their business. Some versions even house the miniaturized city of Kandor, a literal bottled piece of Krypton's history. Imagine walking into an office space and being able to look at what an alien city looked like.
3. The Baxter Building
Home base for the Fantastic Four sits right in the middle of Manhattan, which would make it a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. Filled with prototypes, experimental portals, and half-finished science projects, there's no shortage of things to gawk at.
4. The Sanctum Sanctorum
Doctor Strange's home in Greenwich Village looks like a no-nonsense townhouse from the outside, but we all know it’s what's on the inside that counts. A sprawling library of occult knowledge lines the walls, magical relics sit in every corner, and the interior architecture bends and shifts in ways that would make your brain hurt. While cool as a tourist landmark, Strange’s home could double as a fun fair maze.
5. The Hall of Justice
Part public monument, part secret command center, the Hall of Justice gives visitors the best of both worlds. If you’re lucky, you could even witness someone using the beaming system engineered by John Stewart.
6. Titans Tower
Compared to the grim, weapon-packed vibe of somewhere like the Batcave, Titans Tower feels almost cozy. As it’s their living space just as much as their working space, the tower has a much more relaxed, lived-in energy than other headquarters.

7. Stark Tower
Leave it to Tony Stark to turn a Manhattan skyscraper into equal parts corporate headquarters, superhero base, and luxury apartment complex. Cutting-edge Stark tech is woven into every floor, and several Avengers have called it home at one point or another. It also has the enormous advantage of being, you know, actually reachable.
8. The X-Mansion
Professor Xavier's school blends ordinary classrooms with the legendary Danger Room, a training facility that throws simulated combat and worst-case emergency scenarios at his students. For anyone who grew up on video games, the Danger Room would be the first and only stop on the tour. Watching a training session alone would be enough to leave a lasting impression.

9. Oa
The Green Lantern Corps would be a little harder to reach, seeing as you’d have to go to space to see it. The planet Oa serves as the seat of the Guardians of the Universe, acting as a base for culture, technology, and operations. A stop at the Guardians’ headquarters would require more than just an afternoon.

10. The Rock of Eternity
Forget hallways and floor plans; the Rock of Eternity plays by its own set of rules. With mystical chambers, hidden libraries, and rooms filled with multi-dimensional doors, you could spend days wandering this headquarters’ vast halls.
1. Avengers Mansion
The original Stark family mansion has a storied history as Avengers headquarters, but that history includes Baron Zemo's Masters of Evil storming the place, capturing team members, and brutally injuring Hercules in the process. All the legacy and charm in the world doesn't matter much when your workplace gets overrun by villains.
2. Avengers Mountain
Depending on who you are, you might find yourself interested or unsettled by the Celestial body that sits at the heart of Avengers Mountain. Furthermore, the base has been attacked, damaged, and even hijacked and turned against the team. Imagine showing up to work and your own building decides it wants you dead.
3. The Infinite Avengers Mansion
Hank Pym made his headquarters stretch endlessly through something called Underspace. Impressive, sure, but also a logistical nightmare. Finding the bathroom, let alone the meeting room, could take hours if you’re not careful.
4. Knowhere
The Guardians of the Galaxy once ran operations out of Knowhere, a station built inside the severed head of a dead Celestial. It's a fascinating outpost for cosmic travelers, sure, but the repeated infiltration attempts and security breaches wouldn’t give you peace of mind.
5. The Justice League Watchtower
Working in orbit would be fascinating if it wasn’t such a safety hazard. The Watchtower has been attacked or disabled countless times, occasionally stranding heroes hundreds of miles above the planet with no easy way home. You wouldn’t want to get stuck up there, no matter how cool it is.

6. The Young Avengers' Warehouse
Kate Bishop turned an old Bishop Publishing warehouse into a scrappy base for the Young Avengers. It fits the team's underdog energy, but an unsecured warehouse full of teenagers fighting dangerous enemies doesn’t scream "safe working conditions."
7. The Birds of Prey Clock Tower
Oracle's Clock Tower packed serious computing and communications power into a fortified structure, which naturally made it a prime target. Seer eventually hacked Oracle's network, using the breach to frame Barbara Gordon and the Batgirls for the tower's own destruction. A cybersecurity failure no IT department wants to handle.

8. The Doom Patrol's Shelter
Don't let the reassuring name fool you. The Shelter has weathered some pretty serious stuff, internally and externally. Dealing with supervillain attacks is stressful enough without also wondering whether the person beside you might be working against the team.
9. The Tower of Fate
Doctor Fate's headquarters runs on pure sorcery. That makes for a fascinating stop on a short visit, but a workplace where every problem could involve ancient magical forces instead of a broken Wi-Fi router sounds exhausting to manage long-term.

10. The Sentry's Watchtower
The Sentry built a Manhattan base that later relocated atop Stark Tower. It was eventually destroyed in a battle involving the Hulk, and the Sentry's constant tether to the destructive entity known as the Void meant danger was never far away.
