Strength Isn’t the Only Way to Win
The Hulk is one of the strongest characters in superhero fiction, and his power can continue increasing as his anger grows. However, a fight doesn’t have to be decided by punching harder, especially when magic, telepathy, reality manipulation, extreme speed, and cosmic energy are involved. Different versions of these characters have varying power levels, but each hero below possesses abilities that could neutralize Bruce Banner’s destructive alter ego before the battle became an extended contest of strength. Here are 20 superheroes who would have no trouble beating up the Hulk.

1. Superman
Superman can match tremendous physical strength with exceptional speed, flight, heat vision, and years of combat experience. Rather than trading punches until his opponent became angrier, he could attack rapidly and carry the fight away from populated areas.
2. Thor
Thor has already demonstrated that he can withstand prolonged battles against the green powerhouse, even without using every ability available to him. Mjolnir gives the Asgardian control over lightning, flight, energy projection, and dimensional travel in addition to his immense strength.
3. Sentry
Sentry possesses extraordinary strength, speed, durability, flight, and energy manipulation, placing him among Marvel’s most powerful heroes. He has fought the Hulk directly and shown that he can absorb an astonishing level of punishment.
4. Silver Surfer
The Silver Surfer’s Power Cosmic gives him far more options than simply testing his strength against a furious opponent. He can manipulate matter and energy, travel at extreme speeds, create force fields, and survive conditions that would destroy most beings.
5. Scarlet Witch
Wanda Maximoff wouldn’t need to stand nearby and exchange physical attacks. Her chaos magic has altered probability, transformed matter, affected minds, and reshaped reality on an enormous scale. Provided she acts before being struck, she could disable the transformation, immobilize the Hulk, or change the circumstances of the battle entirely.

6. Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange specializes in defeating threats that can’t be handled through ordinary physical force. Protective spells, dimensional portals, illusions, restraints, and astral abilities would allow him to avoid a direct contest.

7. Jean Grey
Jean Grey’s telepathy gives her access to the mind behind the enormous green body. She could potentially calm Bruce Banner, suppress the anger driving the transformation, or mentally incapacitate him before the fight escalated.

8. Franklin Richards
Franklin Richards can manipulate reality on a universal scale, even though the consistency of his powers has varied throughout his history. At full strength, he could remove the Hulk from the battlefield, alter his transformation, or construct an entirely different environment around him.
9. Blue Marvel
Blue Marvel combines enormous strength and durability with antimatter-based energy manipulation, flight, and a brilliant scientific mind. He has fought exceptionally powerful opponents while maintaining far greater tactical control than the Hulk usually displays.
10. Hyperion
Several versions of Hyperion have displayed Hulk-level strength, tremendous speed, flight, atomic vision, and exceptional durability. His mobility and ranged attacks would give him an immediate advantage over an opponent who primarily relies on close combat.
11. Doctor Fate
Doctor Fate’s magical abilities include energy projection, illusions, telepathy, dimensional travel, and powerful defensive spells. The Helmet of Fate also connects its wearer to knowledge and power that extend far beyond ordinary human limits.
12. The Flash
The Flash doesn’t possess the Hulk’s raw strength, but he operates at speeds that his opponent would struggle to perceive. He could evacuate civilians, avoid every attack, and deliver countless strikes before the Hulk completed a single movement.
13. Martian Manhunter
Martian Manhunter combines super strength and durability with flight, telepathy, invisibility, shapeshifting, and intangibility. He could become untouchable while attacking Bruce Banner’s mind instead of his body.
14. Green Lantern
A skilled Green Lantern can create energy restraints, defensive barriers, weapons, and complex structures limited largely by willpower and imagination. Fighting from the air would allow the Lantern to avoid most direct attacks while containing the destruction below.

15. Captain Atom
Captain Atom can absorb and project tremendous amounts of energy while flying and manipulating quantum forces. Gamma radiation is central to the Hulk’s transformation, which gives an energy-based hero an especially interesting tactical advantage.
16. Shazam
Shazam possesses magical strength, speed, durability, flight, and lightning granted through several legendary figures. His magical nature could be particularly useful because the Hulk’s physical resistance doesn’t automatically protect him from supernatural attacks. Combining rapid movement with repeated magical lightning strikes would prevent the confrontation from becoming a straightforward strength competition.
17. Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman has the strength to survive the Hulk’s attacks, but her training and equipment would matter even more. She’s an expert warrior with exceptional speed, magical weapons, and defensive tools capable of handling opponents far stronger than ordinary humans.
18. Spectrum
Monica Rambeau can transform herself into different forms of electromagnetic energy, allowing her to move at extraordinary speeds and become effectively intangible. The Hulk couldn’t easily punch someone whose body had become light, radio waves, or another energy form.
19. Iceman
Iceman’s abilities extend far beyond creating snowballs or covering the floor with ice. The Hulk might eventually break through ordinary ice, but comprehensive control over the water in and around his body presents a far more serious problem.
20. Legion
David Haller possesses numerous personalities, with each one potentially controlling a different superhuman ability. His powers have included telepathy, telekinesis, reality alteration, time manipulation, and matter control, depending on which personality is active.
