20 Superheroes That Seriously Deserve A Break


Saving The World Is Exhausting Work

Superheroes may have impressive powers, advanced technology, and years of combat training, but none of that means they can keep going on forever. Sure, the world might always be in danger in these comic book universes, but relying on these heroes to be at the top of their game every time is a little unrealistic. Here are 20 superheroes who have it especially rough and could really use a break. They deserve it!

1. Spider-Man

Since he was a teen, Peter Parker has been doing his best to balance school, work, relationships, money problems, and superhero duties. It's honestly incredible he's held on for this long! Because every time his personal life begins to improve, another villain appears and ruins everything. This man deserves a good holiday.

2. Batman

Business man in the morning, vigilante by night. Bruce Wayne has lived a complicated double life in Gotham for many years, and it doesn't seem like he's interested in resting between those responsibilities. Between all his duties like investigating crimes, training younger heroes, and preparing emergency plans for every threat, a proper vacation might be what he actually needs.

3. Superman

It doesn't matter where you are in the world, if Superman hears you have an emergency, he's on it. It's good for the world, but for him, it just makes it impossible to relax and rest. Outside of his hero duties, he's also doing his best to maintain a journalism career and spend time with his loved ones. Even someone as powerful as Clark Kent deserves a day off here and there.

4. Daredevil

Matt Murdock spends his day working as a lawyer, but once night falls, he's busy getting into dangerous fights across Hell’s Kitchen. His determination is impressive, but his body is definitely paying the price for his refusal to slow down. He could use a long break and some professional medical attention in our eyes.

5. Wolverine

Wolverine might be able to physically heal quickly, but that doesn’t make constant injury pleasant or fix any emotional damage he's dealt with. He’s lived through wars, experiments, lost memories, broken relationships, and more team conflicts than anyone should reasonably face. If we were him, we'd be praying for a vacation.

Just because Wanda Maximoff is one of the strongest characters in the Marvel universe doesn't mean she hasn't had it tough. Dealing with her extraordinary powers, tremendous grief, and people who fear her would definitely take a toll on anybody. We think she deserves some peace and quiet to get her own emotions in check.

Barry Allen can move faster than almost anyone, but that just means he's working twice as hard. Not to mention, he still struggles to keep up with everything expected of him! This busy man is handling crime, scientific work, family responsibilities, and hero business on the daily. Running more quickly isn’t a replacement for taking actual time off.

Between Diana's diplomatic duties, battles, divine conflicts, and other responsibilities, Wonder Woman is definitely due for a break. People depend on her wisdom as much as her strength, which really just adds another layer of pressure that would be nice to get away from here and there.

With powers as incredible as hers, Jean Grey is constantly facing enormous pressure not just stemming from her abilities, but from complicated relationships, cosmic interventions, death, and unexpected returns. Someone going through as much as her honestly deserves a calm environment to be at peace.

Spending most of his life learning from Batman to protect cities, lead teams, and establish his own identity, Dick Grayson has been battling not just villains, but inner demons too. He's a reliable vigilante that has others heroes turning to him for help often, which also gives him more pressure we're sure he could use a break from.

Imagine having to protect the world's oceans, rule Atlantis, manage political disputes, and be a hero! Aquaman sure has it tough when he has the entire underwater world to look after. Because his responsibilities involve entire nations rather than a single neighborhood or city, he's long due for a vacation.
