20 Worst Korok Locations In Breath Of The Wild

Ya-Ha-Ha! You Found Me!

Whether you’re a new fan of the Legend of Zelda series or you’re replaying this game for the 10th time, there are a few things that will never get easy. Lynels, deflecting guardian beams, an inappropriate time for rain, and, of course, the 900 koroks that are scattered among Hyrule. If you’re on your way to completing the task of finding every korok in the Breath of the Wild, here are a few to look out for.

1. Breman Peak

Another seed that is more difficult to obtain than to find. Bremen Peak is located northeast of Mount Floria and has a small circle of rocks jutting out from the water. Here, you must toss a rock into the centre of the circle. Good luck trying to figure out how.

2. Seven Heroines

It shouldn’t be surprising to discover that the seven Gerudo heroines have a couple of smaller friends sharing the space. This korok is located between the wrists of one of the statues, requiring players to shoot a balloon to collect this korok seed. There’s another korok located in this area as well, but we won’t tell you where it is.

3. Hyrule Castle Lockup

Well hidden in the many twists and turns of the royal family’s estate, this korok is located under a rock halfway down a hidden shaft in Princess Zelda’s area of the castle. This space really requires some digging, since you won’t be able to just “come across it” in your travels.

4. Serenne Stable

Here, you must use your horse to jump over three fences to reveal a korok. Experienced players may not have found it difficult to recognize that this was a puzzle, but those who don’t play as often may not have thought to follow through on this puzzle.

5. Gerudo Summit

This korok seed requires a lot of climbing, so make sure you are prepared. Here, you must follow a korok flower up the western side of the Gerudo Highlands plateau. We’d recommend a maxxed-out stamina wheel plus stamina replenishing food.

6. Lakeside Stable

It’s often enjoyable when structures are involved with korok discovery, and lakeside stables are no exception. The horse-like structure will look a little odd when you come upon it, as you notice this particular steed has a beard made of leaves. You know what to do next.

7. Lurelin Village

This funny little puzzle involves finding a palm tree that has a little bit more than palm fruits. Situated between the green fruits is a bright red apple, which players must shoot to get a korok to appear.

8. Keya Pond

Not getting distracted is the key to this korok seed. Located in the east necula region is a small pond littered with luminous stones. If you look closer, however, you’ll find a bombable wall with even more luminous stones, as well as a small rock that has your hidden korok.

9. Mystathi’s Shelf

This desolate area is located north of the Gerudo Summit, and slightly northeast of the Statue of the Eighth Heroine. Here, a small rock formation sits just slightly above Link's climbing capabilities, meaning you have to get the lonesome rock up onto the shelf another way.

10. Walnot Mountain

Walnot Mountain sits between Hateno Village and the Afromsia Coast. At its tallest point, players will have to race against the clock to successfully achieve this korok’s puzzle. The issue? You have 20 seconds to race from peak to peak.

11. Cora Lake

Located south of Lake Tower is the small but deep Cora Lake. This lake has the familiar metal block puzzle that appears throughout the BOTW map, hidden amongst the rock formations in this lake. Players have to find one metal cube somewhere in the lake, using magnesis.

12. North Lomei Labyrinth

Located south-west of this familiar labyrinth puzzle is a lone korok, nestled in a tree. While it's simple enough to collect this korok seed, you may not think to poke around the barren snowland of the Tabantha region.

13. South Nabi Lake

If you’re not riding a horse in this area, you should probably double back and grab your trusty steed. This seed is located within a dilapidated town, between the paths leading into dueling peaks and the eagus bridge. Like Serenne stable, players must jump over three wooden hurdles laid out in front of them, with a horse, to get this korok.

14. Fort Hateno

Hyrule’s last stronghold is also home to some bouncing acorns - yes, you heard that right. Players must shoot all the acorns as they travel against the treetops for this korok to appear.

15. Akkala Wilds

Again, not necessarily a hidden puzzle, just a difficult one. Once you’ve fought and defeated the nearby Lynel (yes, you have to fight a Lynel), Link must play a little bit of boulder golf. We assume you’re well-versed in BOTW mechanics if you’re reading this article, so we don’t have to tell you how tedious this process can be.

16. Pagos Woods

Located in the Floria River, this puzzle requires players to shift a metallic boulder onto a platform, as shown by two existing metal boulders and platforms. The trick is finding the third boulder, which is hidden somewhere along the riverbed.

17. Hylia Bridge

Another well-known annoying korok to try and find, the Hylia Bridge korok is tucked away on a narrow ledge that requires some careful gliding movements. Here, you will find a branch that needs to be picked up, and you’ll hear that familiar “ya-ha-ha!”

18. Hyrule Castle Observation Room

On a small balcony in Hyrule Castle, you’ll find that familiar golden pinwheel anxiously waiting for you to come touch it. When you do, however, you’ll discover that the balloon appears quite far away, like an unbelievably far distance away. This korok requires some intense precision and decent guardian avoidance.

19. Damel Forest

This korok is located close to the spring of courage, and is more difficult than it looks. The premise is simple: push a boulder from a pillar onto the platform below. Unfortunately, a precise amount of movement is needed to get this rock where it needs to go.

20. Lurelin Village…Again

Known for being one of, if not the most difficult, korok locations in the entire BOTW map, we find ourselves on a roof in Laurelin Village. One of the homes has an outline of rocks that is only missing one spot, from which the player must try and get a rock from a nearby pile onto the roof of the house. Good luck!
