Video game villains are often just as memorable as the heroes, and sometimes even more interesting. While many players spend hours trying to defeat them, some villains have so much depth, personality, and backstory that they could easily carry a game on their own. Characters like Vaas from Far Cry and Handsome Jack from Borderlands are perfect examples of villains with complex motivations and strong fan appeal. Many of these characters feel underexplored, leaving players wanting to experience their stories from a different perspective.
