20 Marvel Characters Who Could Have Prevented Everything

20 Marvel Characters Who Could Have Prevented Everything

The Heroes Who Might Have Changed the Story

The Marvel Universe has no shortage of powerful heroes, brilliant scientists, cosmic beings, and reality-changing characters. Across the comics and movies, plenty of disasters happen because someone doesn't arrive in time, doesn't have the right information, or simply isn't involved when things start going wrong. Looking back at some of Marvel's biggest conflicts, it's fun to consider which characters might have been able to stop the chain of events before everything spiraled out of control.

1. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange has access to magic, dimensional knowledge, and an impressive understanding of threats most ordinary heroes can't even comprehend. His ability to manipulate mystical forces could have changed the outcome of numerous conflicts if he'd been involved early enough. Considering how often Strange discovers a solution after everyone else has already made a mess, getting him involved sooner would've been useful.

2. Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch has the power to change reality around her. She's been able to alter the world around her many times and could possibly save billions of lives. The downside to Wanda is that she can also cause harm, so maybe you don't want her saving one thing only to break another.

3. Reed Richards

Reed Richards has helped many of Marvel's biggest heroes. From technology to other dimensions, he could have helped many times in the past. If only we had a little more time, Reed Richards could have come up with a plan to save many people.

4. Professor X

Professor X could have been very helpful in stopping threats from happening. With the power to speak to others miles away and read minds, he could potentially discover threats before they unfold. If a dangerous plan could be discovered before it was carried out, having one of Marvel's most powerful telepaths involved might have changed the situation considerably.

5. Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer has a great deal of power. His power is so great that threats on Earth wouldn't compare to his. He can alter many forms of energy and matter, so if the situation at hand required someone to save us from an enemy outside of our world, Silver Surfer may have arrived earlier.

6. Thor

Thor could have been a big help as well. Not only does he have years of experience in battle, but he could call other gods. If someone had simply called Thor before a crisis became completely out of control, there would've been a very good chance of getting an extremely powerful warrior involved.

7. Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel is one of Marvel's strongest heroes. She could have helped us stop some threats, as she could fly in space. Her abilities would have helped heroes when facing bigger threats than normal.

9. Hulk

Hulk is one of my favorites on this list because not only does he have brute strength, but Bruce Banner is smart. There may have been a time when Banner would know what to do. Of course, convincing Banner that turning into the Hulk is the best solution isn't always as simple as it sounds.

10. Loki

You wouldn't normally want Loki in a situation to save us from disasters. But there would have been some situations where he could have been useful. The main concern would be making sure Loki doesn't decide that preventing the disaster is less entertaining than causing it.

11. Spider-Man

Peter Parker could have stopped many disasters. He's very intelligent and quick-witted. There have been many situations where Spider-Man thought of something we could have used. Sometimes the person who can prevent everything isn't the strongest person in the room, but the one who notices something everyone else missed.

12. Ant-Man

Ant-Man's ability to shrink could have saved us. He can get to places that other heroes could not reach. With the Quantum Realm, we could have possibly prevented some threats. He's always good when you're trying to reach something small.

13. Wasp

Just like Ant-Man, Wasp could have saved us from some disasters. She's quick and smart, so she would have helped. When you're dealing with disasters that require quick thinking, you need someone like Wasp to help you out.

14. Captain America

Captain America can bring the best heroes together to fight one enemy. Not only is he smart and brave, but he knows all his fellow heroes and how to work with them. Sometimes all we need to do is get the heroes working together.

15. Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom could have helped us stop many disasters. His scientific knowledge, magical abilities, and resources could potentially address threats that would overwhelm conventional heroes. The catch is obvious: Doom would probably expect everyone to remember that he was the one who saved them.

16. Jean Grey

Jean Grey is very powerful, and with the Phoenix, she's even more powerful. She can influence minds, move objects with her thoughts, and operate on a scale far beyond ordinary physical combat. If a crisis involved either psychic forces or overwhelming power, Jean could potentially make a major difference.

17. Adam Warlock

There's been many threats to our world that Adam Warlock could have helped with. His powers and experience make him particularly relevant when the threat extends beyond a single planet or civilization. Someone with that level of cosmic awareness might recognize the danger before an Earth-based hero even knows where to start looking.

18. Deadpool

Not only is Deadpool funny, but he could have helped. His healing factor allows him to survive injuries that would end most fights immediately. He also has a habit of behaving unpredictably, which can occasionally be useful when an enemy thinks they've accounted for every possible move.

Deadpool19. Franklin Richards

Franklin Richards is one of Marvel's most powerful reality manipulators. His abilities have reached extraordinary levels in the comics, including creating or affecting entire realities. If you're looking for someone who could potentially prevent a catastrophe by changing the conditions that caused it, Franklin belongs near the top of the list of possibilities.

20. Uatu the Watcher

Uatu could have told us what was coming. We never knew what was going to happen to us until the Watcher came to us. Of course, the Watcher's entire philosophy revolves around observing rather than interfering, which makes his decision to finally step in a rather important one.
